And the Bachelor for 2014 is …. Guy Saben
LINDEN – Linden’s Guy Saben did not just win the SA Bachelor and Bachelorette competition but is voguish, a la mode, dashing and a dedicated humanitarian.
The most recent winner of the South African Bachelor and Bachelorette competition, Guy Saben, says the craziest thing he has ever done is entering this prestigious competition.
“I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would have the opportunity to be in the position that I am in now,” says Linden’s young talented Saben.
This classically trained oboist and sound engineer did not expect to feel like a star at the Bachelor and Bachelorette finale on 8 November at Silverstar.
“This was something that was so unexpected,” says Saben.
He humbly says he won because of his heart.
“I love people. A good cause should never go unnoticed,” he says.
According to Saben, all the finalists put in so much time, heart and soul.
“I truly feel we all deserve it in our own way. Having this honour means so much to me because I have dedicated my life over the past five months to intense charity work, and I am so pleased that I now have this incredible title to help accelerate the process of successful charity work.”
He is chic and elegant, but thinks looks do not count.
“I think looks have become quite redundant… especially during my experience in the competition. If you show passion and heart then you are destined to gain success – at least in the ideal world,” he says.
Although he does not feel like a model, he sure looks like one.
Perhaps the confidence is boosted by his lifestyle, which makes him “eye candy” for some.
“I try my best to visit the gym each day for a quick jog. It keeps me happy and energetic. I used to canoe quite often.”
This good looking lad says the world should expect amazing things from him.
“Huge and exciting things are going to happen… my promise was to make fundraising fun and I have so many events and awareness campaigns that are lined up. Rock for a Reason (a Cansa initiative) is not over… only next year it will be bigger and the amazing Cindy Alter will be in partnership with me in this venture.”
Saben intends to get more involved in humanitarian work.
“I hope to get greatly involved in the aid and support of numerous independent support associations, and hopefully boost the awareness for their cause and continue being an activist for subjects that I feel passionate about.”
