Generous women donate their sales commissions to Smile Foundation
Randburg - Two very special ladies give it all to the Smile Foundation.
Two saleswomen have pledged to donate their sales commissions to the Smile Foundation.
Sandra Appertey and Noluthando Thobela work for Toyota Imperial in Randburg.
Both have committed themselves to donating their commissions that they will make from October to December, in order to help children who need medical operations, through Smile Foundation.
“We were listening to the radio programme about Christmas wishes and we thought it will be a wonderful idea for us to join the spirit of giving by donating our sales commission for three months, starting from October to December,” explained Appertey.
They want to raise R100 000 for Smile Foundation to enable 10 children to have facial reconstructive surgeries.
“An average medical surgery could cost R10 000 and we thought it would great if could help 10 children to undergo their surgeries. The Smile Buzz initiative does not include our company or bosses but they are very supportive,” says Thando.
According to the two women, they are driven to sell more than eight cars each per month to fulfil their wishes of giving to the children who are in need.
According to Hedley Lewis executive director – finance and fundraising “The Smile Foundation is overwhelmed by the passion and drive that both Sandra and Thando have to change children’s lives. These two ladies have pledged their entire commission on all cars they sell for a three month period to our foundation. The facial reconstructive surgeries which these children will have with the help of the academic hospitals and surgical teams will see them have a brighter
future. On behalf of the children that will be assisted I would like to thank Sandra, Thando and the entire Imperial team.”
The Smile Foundation is a South African non-governmental organisation with a holistic health care vision for children with facial conditions. The Smile Foundation together with the country’s academic hospitals work together to put the smile back onto our children’s faces with free corrective facial reconstructive surgery and treatments.
