FERNDALE – High tea, to help raise funds to help raise 5 year old Aidan that has a genetic disorder called Costello Syndrome

Aidan Hunt is the second person in South Africa to be diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Costello Syndrome, .

He was diagnosed on 30 March 2011, and only 2–300 people have it world-wide.

A high tea will be held at Annica’s Deli in Ferndale on 5 December to help raise funds for Aidan and create awareness about Costello Syndrome.

Aidan’s mum Melissa explained that “Over the next number of years, will need to do abdominal scans every three months to screen for cancerous tumours, and heart scans as Aidan has a thickened left ventrical wall.

He has culcaneo vulgus feet which will need to be corrected, and after the age of 10, he will need to undergo tests for bladder cancer to.”

To give Aidan the best chance in life, Melissa needs to raise over R35 000 per month to cover medical and related expenses.

‘Raising Aidan’ microwave cake and cup cake mix that bakes in three minutes, is what Mellissa makes to help her to raise funds for Aidan.
