Rand Park High lights the candles of the new Grade 8s at their inauguration on 16 January.
Head boy Joshua Ashwood and head girl Tiffany Johnson of Rand Park High welcomed the Grade 8s by passing on ‘the light of knowledge’.
This was done through the candle lighting ceremony shared between the school and the Rand Park family.
The event is held at the commencement of each new year for all of the Grade 8s and their parents.
This symbolic gesture is a tradition within the school and forms part of the warm welcome extended to each Grade 8 and his/her family as
they join the Rand Park High family.
