Mudiwa Chanakira – cricket genius
BRYANSTON – St Stithians Boys’ College has an 'AB' in the making.
Mudiwa Chanakira, who is a member of the St Stithians Boys’ College U15A cricket team, scored 279 runs on 24 January.
The match was played against Parktown Boys High School.
He achieved this remarkable feat from just 136 balls and at a strike rate of 21.
This is the highest individual score by a Gauteng schoolboy cricketer.
Charlene Bolleurs communications officer of St Stithians Boys’ College commented, ”So when the Proteas of the future are scoring six after six after six…we’re willing to bet it will be Mudiwa wielding that bat.”
