Baseball for all ages

MALANSHOF ­– The Randburg Mets hit home runs with the junior and senior baseball league.

Randburg Mets Baseball club entertains ages of all sorts at the Randburg Sports Complex.

”Little League” as it was known before was started in 1989.

The schools in the area were looking for a more competitive way to showcase their league and players.

The Randburg Town Council showed a gradual but eventual support by officially handing over the clubhouse to the team in 1993.

After much deliberation with the concerned parties in the area and a highly committed club of members, the scene began to change for the

club.

Randburg Town Council instituted ablution blocks in the field area as well as newly planted grass on the field.

The next season the Randburg Mets Junior Baseball club had a field of their very own.

The age groups are, U9, U12, U15 and seniors.

Randburg Mets Baseball Club practises twice a week on a Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm to 6pm.

All interested children are welcome to join.

A season starts from about September to the end of March every year.
