Three people injured in taxi collision

BORDEAUX – Three people were injured this morning after a taxi lost control, causing it to overturn at the Jan Smuts Avenue and Republic Road intersection in Randburg.

Three people were injured on the morning of 10 April after a taxi overturned at the Jan Smuts Avenue and Republic Road intersection in Bordeaux.

Paramedics from the ER24 Johannesburg North branch arrived on scene and found the taxi lying on its side in the middle of the road.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, the occupants of the taxi were standing around on scene.

“On assessment, paramedics found that only three of the occupants from the fully loaded taxi had sustained minor injuries,” said Meiring.

Meiring also said paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to a nearby hospital for further observation.

It is understood that the driver of the taxi lost control, causing it to overturn.

“The taxi was eventually pushed upright by a crowd of bystanders,” Meiring said.
