GALLERY and VIDEO: For the love of motor sport

RANDBURG – Motor enthusiasts drool at the new opening of the GP Store in Sandton City.

People were delighted to see the final unveiling and opening of the one-of-a-kind GP Store in Sandton City on 9 June.

Supporters, celebrities, former racers and lovers of all things motor-sport related came to enjoy the evening’s festivities. Inside the store was none other than a replica of Michael Schumacher’s Formula One 2002 Ferrari that was driven during his World Champion winning season. The store hosts tons of memorabilia and merchandise for anyone with an insatiable thirst for fast cars and motorbikes.

The idea was to boost a love for motor sport in South Africa. Supersport Formula One presenter Gary Formato said, “I get goose bumps just standing near this car and being among so much history.” Other notable names in the motor sporting community showed up such as Barbaro Levi – GP Store CEO and co-founder from Monaco – Springbok player Francois Hougaard and Gugu Zulu, a former South African racer.
