RANDPARK RIDGE – Pupils at Trinityhouse Randpark Ridge perform for their parents.

Trinityhouse Randpark Ridge hosted their annual Junior Preparatory Performing Arts evening on 11 June to show the parents what their children have learned.

The Grade 1 to Grade 3 pupils and the Senior String Ensemble performed songs in Afrikaans and Zulu, and showed off their musical talents.

Trinityhouse Preparatory Randpark Ridge music teacher, Karika van den Heever and Grade 1 teacher Carol Farrell organised the event. Van den Heever said, “What a wonderful evening. The two humorous, confident comperes, Lilly Tzingakis and Charlotte Petrick, guided us through a delightful presentation of drama, Afrikaans and Zulu poems, as well as songs. We also enjoyed some very sparkling musical items. Our young pupils ‘blew our socks off’ with their professional delivery.

“We were impressed by the high standard of musical proficiency demonstrated on the violins, flutes, guitars, djembe drums, recorders, marimbas, percussion, piano and voice. We are proud of the hard work that our pupils invest in developing their talents.”

The school’s principal, Hilton Scott added, “Music and drama play a profound role in the all-round development of a child at preparatory school level. Both these areas of our school enjoy maximum development and participation from Grade 1 to Grade 7.”
