Community’s social responsibility initiative

An initiative helps youth be responsible and aware about challenges in their community.

The Windsor East and West community organisation, We Community Committee, held a successful social responsibility community initiative on 16 June.

The event was aimed at celebrating the freedom gifted to all citizens through the actions of the students who protested against the apartheid regime in 1976. The day was well spent with members of the organisation, various invited celebrities, and community leaders engaged in various activities with the children.

The event was meant to uplift the community through creating self-awareness, motivating youth, teaching individual community responsibility and unification.

It also provided an opportunity for young people to network.

They also learned historical insight and education in relation to future progress and growth.

According to one of the event organisers, Moeti Moalosi, the initiative was to instil responsibility in young people of the community and help them understand the freedom of young people.

This will assist in tackling dire challenges in the community since everyone will endeavour to be aware and responsible in what is happening in their area. “We are very proud to report that the event exceeded our expectations, as far as its success, and that the proceedings took place without a glitch,” said Moalosi.
