WATCH: Robber tackled in Northgate Shopping Centre
NORTHRIDING – Man tackles a robber trying to escape after shoplifting in Northgate Shopping Centre.
A man tackled a robber who attempted to flee, after shoplifting three cellphones from Foschini in Northgate Shopping Centre on 5 September.
Northgate’s marketing manager Natalie Kinsley said the robber fled the scene after realising a Foschini employee saw his deed.
Kinsley said a Randburg resident saw the robber running in the mall and tackled him.
She said mall security reacted quickly and the man was reported to police.
Honeydew spokesperson Karen Jacobs could not be reached for comment but Kinsley said the man was arrested.
