The Grade R class of Delta Park School recently went to the Midrand Fire Station to learn about people who help in the community.
According to one of the teachers, Jackie van der Hoven, the kids were very excited when they found out that they would be going to the fire station. The children met the fire officer and received a lesson in fire fighting. Another teacher, Gillian Townley said that the children also got the opportunity to meet officers of SAPS. “With the sound of sirens, we experienced an exciting ride around the block in one of their fire engines,” said Townley.
The teachers said that it was a very educational and unforgettable outing.
