Netcare 911 airlifts boy (7)

ROBINDALE EXTENSION – Boy (7) was airlifted by Netcare 911 medical helicopter after he almost drowned.

Netcare 911 paramedics received a call for a drowning incident at Robindale Ext 1, in Randburg, at 3.14pm on 8 November.

Reports indicated that a boy, aged seven, was found in a pool in a complex and was unresponsive.

Exact details as to how the child landed in the pool are still speculative and will remain a subject for police investigation.

“Paramedics and the Netcare rescue unit arrived at the scene and found the boy in a critical condition,” according to the Netcare 911 statement.

It is understood that paramedics worked fervently to stabilise the child and thereafter placed him on a ventilator.

“They airlifted the child to a specialised facility on board the Netcare medical helicopter.”
