GALLERY and VIDEO: Andrews Academy hosts Matric dance and awards ceremony
RANDPARK – Andrews Academy School of Excellence hosts their annual Matric dance and awards evening at the Randpark Golf Club.
Cambridge Andrews Academy School of Excellence held its annual awards evening and Matric dance on 27 November at the Randpark Golf Club’s Protea Room.
Principal Christiaan Andrews said this was the sixth awards evening that the school has hosted since it opened in 2012.
The evening opened with a dance by the Mario Gomes Hip Hop dance group, Lil Precision, which was followed by a dinner before the awards were handed over to the various students.
Andrews explained that the school with only 60 pupils, is a small entity and for this reason he decided to combine the Matric dance and the awards evening.
“We are a small, but happy, family and I feel it is important to reward and honour our children greatly,” said Andrews.
He added that even though they are a Christian school they do accept students from different backgrounds.
“The most important thing we want to teach children is to have respect for one another – regardless of their religion,” said Andrews.
Andrews said he is proud to be the principal of such a prestigious school and proud of the 15 Matric pupils.
“The school is still in the process of growing but I have no doubt that it will become even more successful,” said Andrews.
He added that he will also open a Andrews Academy Primary school in 2016.
