No water in parts of Northwold

NORTHWOLD – Retief Road and Retief Place to be affected by planned water interruptions from 7am – 4pm.

The water supply across the City of Joburg is normal, with reservoir levels in a satisfactory position.

This was announced by the Joburg Water.

According to the statement, the planned water interruptions for maintenance in Northwold Ext 2 is scheduled for today, 10 December.

Areas that will be affected include Retief Road and Retief Place and it started from 7am to 4pm.

With the return of the high temperatures, residents are reminded that level 2 water restrictions are still in place and must be adhered to.

Level 2 water restrictions according to section 44 (3) of the Water Services Bylaw, states that all consumers are forthwith compelled:

•Not to water and irrigate gardens from 6 am and 6 pm every day

•Not to fill their swimming pools with municipal water

•Not to use hosepipes to wash their cars, paved areas.

Water saving tips:

•Do not leave taps dripping

•Take shallow baths

•Use bathwater or grey-water to water the garden.

Residents are also urged to remain active partners in reducing the amount of water used in the City of Joburg.

They are encouraged to subscribe on Joburg Water website to receive SMS notification service for alerts on planned or unplanned service interruptions.
