Councillor Mafokwane’s Christmas message

KYA SAND – Ward 96 Councillor Matome Mafokwane wishes all residents of Ward 96 a prosperous and peaceful festive season.

I wish all residents of Ward 96 a prosperous and peaceful festive season. Thanks goes to the ratepayers and residents for all support shown in the past year. I would like to continue working closer with all in my ward.

JRA is also thanked for all work done in the ward and should continue delivering services as roads are a backbone of Jozi’ economy.

I will be working throughout the festive season. All residents who are travelling to different destinations should observe the road signs and drive safely so that they can arrive alive.

This is the time of the year when petty crimes are on the rise. We need to be very aware of suspicious activities and we should contact relevant authorities who would tackle the situation.

I urge all residents to continue engaging me with all issues pertaining to service delivery. Even though this is the festive season, it does not mean that service delivery issues will not be addressed.

We will address all those issues in Ward 96.

Poor communication from the City of Joburg entities has been a stumbling block, however this year major projects were completed.

Joburg Water upgraded water pipes in Broadacres relieving residents from water challenges. During this project the entity employed local residents but the project was not communicated with residents efficiently as they had to wait for months before they could access water.

2016 is the year of elections and I will be canvassing for vote but it does not mean residents will be compromised. Residents will always be my first priority.
