Best Christmas wishes from Ward 117 Councillor Truluck

WARD 117– 2016 marks the end of the current Ward Councillors' five-year term.

I would like to wish all the residents in and around the suburbs that make up Ward 117 well over the holidays and I hope that 2016 is a prosperous new year.

It has been a topsy-turvy year with deadly bus crashes, collapsed bridges, floods, fires and billing issues.

2016 marks the end of the current Ward Councillors’ five-year term. Some (including myself) will be staying on. Others will be moving on.

So expect some exciting new faces and energy in May. A municipal election is the only time a voter in SA gets to vote for an actual named person and the issues are all about local problems. Of course we are stuck with an ever-floundering city administration which is increasingly incapable of doing the basics correctly.

So it’s important to make your vote count. In a municipal election, you can only vote where you are registered. And you only have two chances to register at your new voting station before the May election – on the weekends of 6 and 7 February and 5 to 6 March. Let’s get as many people registered to vote in the right place, and then get them all out to vote in May.
