Sincere thanks and appreciation from Mike Wood

WARD 104 – Mike Wood Ward 104 Councillor sends his best wishes for the festive season.

We stand almost at year end and it is a good time to reflect on what has happened in Ward 104 during this year.

We have achieved a lot during this year and the following come to mind:

Firstly, the installation of street lights in Cumberland Road in Bryanston Extension 8.

Secondly the water upgrades in Malanshof and Fontainebleau.

Thirdly the road resurfacing in the ward, in particular Ferndale.

A really great achievement was the parking upgrade at Department of Home Affairs in Randburg.

My sincere thanks and appreciation goes to all the people that facilitated these projects.

In February the ward was hit by severe floods in the Malanshof area. There was extensive damage done to a number of houses and people lost a lot of their possessions.

An appeal was made to the community and the people responded in a magnificent way. Homes were opened up and food, clothing and money was provided. It was very heartening to see how the public responded and I was indeed very proud and extremely humbled by their actions.

I would like to thank all role players in the ward for their contributions and assistance afforded to me during the year. One thinks of SAPS at both Randburg and Linden, JMPD, municipal entities as well as all the resident associations in the ward.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish the community a peaceful and relaxing time over the year end.

I encourage the community to get more involved in the ward as this has proved to be hugely beneficial in the past.
