Man falls off bakkie and dies

RANDPARK RIDGE – Paramedics treat man in his 30s, but he succumbs to his injuries.

A man was killed after he fell from a moving bakkie on the N1 north-bound near the Beyers Naudé Drive off-ramp, Randpark Ridge, on the morning of 25 January.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said that the man was in his 30s. “ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find the patient lying in the slow lane near the off-ramp,” Meiring said.

“On assessment, it was found that the patient had sustained severe injuries and was in a critical condition. Paramedics set out treating the patient and provided him with advanced life support interventions. Unfortunately, after some time, the patient finally succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on scene.”
