UPDATE: Randburg Civic centre is clean again
RANDBURG CBD – Johannesburg Property Company repairs Randburg Civic Centre.
Repairs at the Randburg Civic Centre on Bram Fischer Drive are well underway.
[Johannesburg Property Company (JPC) handed over the site to a contractor on 22 August. To date, road markings and paving are completed, plants have been pruned and a tree stump was uprooted and was expected to be removed from the site.
Boom gates were removed and a leaking tap was fixed to restore the state of the Civic Centre.
According to JPC, outstanding work – which includes fixing the gate rail and patching the potholes – was expected to be completed by 5 September. This is due to traffic passing through the gate during business hours as the contractor could only work on the gate over weekends for safety purposes.
Ward 102 councillor David Potter shared a tweet that was on a resident’s social media page last week which showed images of the work that was proposed. The JPC noted the engagement and tweeted what the proposed action plan was and the timeline. The entity welcomes the engagement where a project is brought to their attention and interactive dialogue that happens effectively on this platform.
JPC noted in a statement that the company appreciated the roles of active citizens. “The Joburg Property Companies handle is @jhbproperty. Please follow our developments and engage on material relevant to your neighbourhood,” read the statement.
