Bras donated to PinkDrive
FERNDALE – Every woman needs a good fitting bra especially women who have been affected by breast cancer.
In aid of breast cancer month the Bra Guru and her clients donated over 100 bras to PinkDrive.
Many women struggle to find well-fitting bras. This is especially true for women who have been affected by breast cancer. PinkDrive’s Ferndale Shop4Cancer and branding manager Jacqui Breedt said, “Our PinkDrive campaigns often visit impoverished areas where most women cannot afford bras. We will take these bras along with us when we take our campaign on the road.”
All PinkDrive units travel to semi-urban and urban areas around South Africa with the aim of enabling all medically uninsured women access to women’s health services. These services include free education on women’s health, free mammograms, free pap smears, free clinical examinations and how to do breast self-examinations.
Taryn Palacios is the Bra Guru and asked her clients to donate their second-hand bras that are still in a beautiful condition. “We have received such great support from all the women who visit our shop, we hope the bras will be put to good use so that women feel empowered, confident and uplifted,” said Palacios.
