Ambulance and truck collide in Sundowner

SUNDOWNER - A VitalMed ambulance was on its way to pick up a patient when it collided with a truck.

Three people were treated at the scene of an accident involving a VitalMed ambulance and a truck in Sundowner yesterday (27 October).

According to the VitalMed paramedic at the scene, Siobhan Nicholls, at around 7pm the ambulance was on its way to pick up a patient when the accident occurred.

“The ambulance was crossing the intersection on the corner of Northumberland Avenue and Apollo Road when the accident happened,” she explained.

Nicholls said that there were only moderate injuries reported and patients were treated at the scene of the accident.

She further explained that Honeydew Police responded to the accident and took down statements from all parties involved in the accident. Another ambulance was sent to pick up the patient.
