Several areas in northern Johannesburg will be without water today (Tuesday) owing to a burst pipe.
Expected restoration time is between 8pm and midnight.
According to Johannesburg Water, supply across the City of Johannesburg is normal, with reservoir levels across the city in a satisfactory position excluding the below-mentioned areas:
- North Riding
- Johannesburg North
- Bloubosrand
- Kya-Sand
- Northlands Business Park (might experience low pressures)
- Needwood (Cedar Lakes, Cedar Creek & Thorn Tree)
- Maroeladal
- Witkoppen
- Chartwell
- Farmall
- Steyn City
- Cedar Creek
- Cedar Lakes
TAKE NOTE: Weltevreden Park planned water outage
Residents are reminded that level-2 water restrictions are still in place and must be adhered to. Level-2 water restrictions according to section 44 (3) of the Water Services Bylaw states that all consumers are forthwith compelled:
- a) Not to water and irrigate their gardens from 06:00 and 18:00 every day;
- b) Only hand held hosepipes or bucket/watering cans are allowed outside these hours.
Note that this is an additional requirement;
- c) Not to fill their swimming pools with municipal water; and
- d) Not to use hosepipes to wash their cars, paved areas, etc.
Water saving tips
- Don’t leave taps dripping
- Take shallow baths
- Use bathwater or grey-water to water the garden.
