Local talent shines at annual Hindi Eisteddfod

DOUGLASDALE – Shining Stars Hindi School took second position in prose reading during the annual Gauteng Hindi Eisteddfod.

 

 

Chamakte Sitare Hindi Patshaala, Shining Stars Hindi School represented the Randburg area at the 12th annual Gauteng Hindi Eisteddfod.

This event was held at Sagewood School in Midrand on 12 March.

According to the school’s teacher, Romilla Ramgathi, it was a vibrant, colourful and well-attended event which showcased the talents of children from Hindi schools based in Gauteng.

“Representatives from each school participated in various items according to their age groups,” she said.

They participated in various art categories including poetry recitals, prose reading, dialogues, sketches, singing and dancing.

The school’s junior team comprises Leyah Haripersad (13), Ishani Diya Bauchoo (10) and Anjali Akira Bauchoo (12), and they took position two in prose reading.
