The greater Randburg communities send a truck load of love to #KnysnaFire victims

RANDBURG – Community members came out in numbers this evening to donate items to those affected.

 

A ten ton truck left Joburg tonight headed for Knysna in the Western Cape packed with valuable items to assist victims of the devastating fire that has caused deaths and left thousands housed in community halls.

Residents come out in their numbers to show support and to donate to #KnysnaFire victims.

Residents from the greater Randburg and surrounding areas stood together after a call was made on different Facebook groups for the collection of items for the victims.

Some o fthe items donated include blankets, clothes, food and sanitary towels and these were dropped off at the Randburg Baseball Club.

Coenraad van Rensburg, one of the organisers, has challenged local businesses and other residents to assist by giving what they can and those items will be transported to Knysna tomorrow.

Caxton Newspapers has also opened its doors to those who wish to donate. Drop offs can be made during office hours on weekdays at the northern office in Craighall situated at 386 Jan Smuts Ave. If you are in the West Rand, you can drop off your donation at 1187 Cornelius Street in Welterveden Park.
