The Robin Hills Scout Group had a fun time greasing their gears and fueling their excitement for all things mechanical at Classic Motorsport on 8 September.
The Scouts were hosted by Steve Pickering and his team of dedicated mechanics, racers and enthusiasts at the car workshop.

Rob Custers of the Robin Hills Scout Group said, “Scout activities teach basic skills such as pioneering, knotting, compass work, cooking while also developing self-confidence, ethics, leadership and citizenship skills.
“The visit to Classic Motorsport was part of a programme developed to broaden a Scout’s life experiences and to involve them in activities that are outside of their comfort zones.”
Classic Motorsport specialises in Porsche racing cars, rebuilding and racing them mostly for pure enjoyment.
The Scouts enjoyed seeing Porsches in their various stages of rebuilds, and they experienced the raw power of a Porsche engine on a test bench.
Some lucky Scouts even got to sit behind the wheel of some race cars.
“We hope that the day inspired some of our scouts to become new petrol heads,” Custers added.
The Robin Hills Scout Group encourages youth to come and experience Scouting and to grow to their full potential.
