Informant helps police to nab Strijdom Park ‘thieves’

RANDBURG – The Randburg police were able to foil an attempted business break-in on 12 December.

Thanks to the help of an anonymous police informant, the Randburg police were able to foil an attempted business break-in in Strijdom Park on the morning of 12 December.

According to Randburg Police Station spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja, three suspects between the ages of 26 and 42 were arrested after breaking into a business selling maternity goods on Fabriek Street.

Maja said, “Allegedly, the suspects entered the premises, stealing property while the police were lying in wait. As they exited the building the police arrested them.”

Maja added that the police were informed about the plan to break into the business by a police informant in the early hours of 12 December. The police rushed to the scene and waited in a strategic location so as not to be seen by the suspects.

“I would like to thank all the members involved, and the suspects will be appearing in court soon after being formally charged,” Maja said.
