Universal Paints Linden continues charitable spirit by donating paint to student volunteers for murals

LINDEN – Universal Paints Linden supports talented local mural artist.

LINDEN – Universal Paints Linden has continued its charitable spirit by donating paint to a group of student volunteers from the USA to create beautiful murals in the heart of Diepsloot, Johannesburg.

The project came about when a group of universities in the USA decided to bring their volunteer programme to South Africa. There, they met with a talented local mural artist, Benjamin Swatez, and the idea was born.

The team was made up of PhD students from the USA and learners from the Leap School of Science and Maths in Diepsloot. They spent a couple of weeks creating three amazing murals on the walls of the life orientation class.

Swatez explained his design, “The father lion is creating a safe place for the next generation to climb higher and the mother elephant is nurturing the next generation with unconditional love! The city and technology mirror, on opposing walls, the harmony of nature as we can live symbiotically – as elders and young can honour the gift all can bring!”
