Character Company invites community members to attend their family picnic

VICTORY PARK – The NPO works to raise boys to be good men so that communities can become a safer place for women and children.

The Character Company welcomes single moms and men desiring to mentor young boys to a family picnic at Delta Park on 14 September.

The Character Company is a group of men and women from all walks of life concerned about the impact of absent fathers on families and society. The NPO works to raise boys to be good men so that communities can become a safer place for women and children. They run a long-term MENtorship programme for young boys growing up with absent fathers or negative male role models in their lives. The programme encourages boys to grow into good for men by instilling honourable values in them.

Administrator for the Character Company Fatima Solomans said, “The family picnic is an opportunity for the bigger Character Company family to get together and spend some quality time getting to know one another. It is also an opportunity to meet new potential MENtors and new moms interested in the programme.”

All community members are welcome to attend.

The Character Company functions as a long-term mentorship programme working with boys all through their school careers and encouraging them to become MENtors themselves one day.

The event will commence from 12noon–4pm on 14 September next to the Simba playground at 77 Craighall Road, Victory Park. The new mentors’ presentation will begin at 2pm, while the new moms’ presentation will start at 2.30pm.
