WATCH: The streets of Joburg during day 1 of the national lockdown

Movement of people has significantly reduced as national lockdown commences.

The overwhelming majority of people around Randburg, Greenside, Linden and Emmarentia are following the rules of the lockdown as very few of them filled the streets of these areas.

On 27 March, the first day of a 21-day lockdown, the Northcliff Melville Times and Randburg Sun went out to the above-mentioned areas to see if people are indoors, public transport is suspended, and grocery stores are open.

This drone footage shows exactly what was happening and taking place during the first day of the lockdown.
