Alleged drunk driver crashes into police vehicle in Honeydew

HONEYDEW – The police vehicle was cut open to free the officers that were trapped inside.


A suspect has been arrested after crashing their car into a police vehicle in Honeydew on 20 September.

Honeydew Police Station spokesperson, Captain Balan Mathan has confirmed that two officers were performing their usual patrol duties in the area when an alleged drunk driver crashed into their vehicle. “The police vehicle had to be cut open by the fire department since they were trapped inside.”

The officers were transported to a nearby hospital for further care. “One officer has been discharged but the other officer is still at the hospital and is stable,” said Muthan.

The driver is in police custody and was charged with drunk and negligent driving.
