Ann Harding Home online shop a success

Within a week, thanks to the expertise of volunteers, the online store was up and running.

After an appeal for the community to support Ann Harding Cheshire Home’s online charity shop during the Covid-19 lockdown, the shop is happy to announce that it has been a tremendous success.

When the Covid-19 lockdown began, the charity shop that helps to provide extra funding for the home and its residents was unable to operate and sell to the public.

“This resulted in a massive loss of income for our home. We knew that something needed to be done, and the best way to do it would be to do something online,” said the home’s Lorraine Tebbutt.

Within a week, thanks to the expertise of volunteers, the online store was up and running.

“We have a huge variety of goods that have been donated, ranging from electronics to kitchenware, available for people to purchase. We had a phenomenal response to our appeal in both sales and donations. I think a lot of people are supporting smaller business and charity organisations during this time and their support really shows.”

She added that the shop’s volunteers have been able to resume their work at the store, and schools in the area have been able to continue their community engagements with the shop.

Tebbutt is happy to announce that the online store will continue to run both during and after the Covid-19 pandemic, and encourages the community to support it.

“There is always a continued need for support in donations and support for purchasing at the store and online. Our work continues beyond the home, and we help so many underprivileged communities. If we can help, we will.”
