Spark Schools takes on the #JerusalemaChallenge
After it reached 100 million views to now being listed the 'most Shazamed song' in the world, Master KG and Nomcebo's hit Jerusalema has not only brought the world together, the song has also spawned a dance challenge that Spark Randburg High and 19 schools in the Spark Schools network decided to partake in.
During these difficult times of Covid-19 and the ‘new normal’, it has been necessary to take additional measures to lift our spirits. Eager to keep up with the trends, Spark Schools staff and scholars put their best foot forward to join the rest of the world in dancing through a pandemic.
After it reached 100 million views to now being listed the ‘most Shazamed song’ in the world, Master KG and Nomcebo’s hit Jerusalema has not only brought the world together, the song has also spawned a dance challenge that Spark Randburg High and 19 schools in the Spark Schools network decided to partake in.
This popular dance challenge emerged during December of 2019 seeing the Internet littered with different renditions. Spark Schools recreated their own moves to the #JerusalemaChallenge and took to social media to challenge their fellow educators and learners at Nova Pioneer.
Co-founder and CEO of Spark Schools Stacey Brewer said, ”In just one day, a few of our Spark scholars and educators prepared and recorded the challenge and nominated our other Spark Schools network to join in on the fun! We were very proud of the creativity and, what our staff and scholars had achieved in such a short period of time.
“The song has struck a universal chord, sweeping people everywhere onto their feet and out of lockdown inertia, uniting everyone in the world and we would like to challenge Nova Pioneer to spread the love and put their best foot forward too.”
