Three suspects were detained by the Honeydew police for an armed robbery that occurred in Cosmo City on 14 October.
“Our Robbery Reaction Unit acted on information provided to them after being alerted to the armed house robbery in Cosmo City. They successfully apprehended three suspects at the scene,” said Honeydew police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan.
Three illegal firearms were recovered.
“Working on the information received, our Echo Squad managed to successfully track down and arrest the trio on charges of robbery. Many electronic items were recovered,” said Muthan.
He added that the station would like to praise the efforts of all officers and other role players who played their part in the arrests.
“Our Robbery Reaction Unit would like to send out a message to all would-be criminals: Honeydew is not a playground. We would like to thank all those involved for their hard work and dedication towards arresting these suspects, recovery of all the firearms and ammunition and other property together with the vehicle,” said Muthan.
All suspects will appear soon in various magistrates’ courts in the area to face charges of armed robbery, and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
