The St Stithians Girls’ Preparatory Grade 7 class of 2020 donated a magnificently sculptured wooden artwork to their school.
The splendid piece of artwork was manufactured by Danelle Janse van Rensburg.
“Being a symbol of remembrance, a gift should reflect a concept that will be applicable and relevant for years to come. The design idea of the ‘Circle of Sisterhood’ was provided by Stacey Whitby, one of our Grade 7 girls last year,” said the school’s Annie Fyfe-Hitchings.

Head of the St Stithians Girls’ Preparatory School Melanie Drake said, “We have a new saying at our school, ‘Sisters, my heart sees your heart’. This means that we don’t just say hello, we say we see you and value you in the eyes of a sister. We would like to thank all of our girls for being part of our school’s history and sisterhood. We would also like to thank school members and parents who help to fund all of our school’s fundraising initiatives.”

Grade 7 director Radha Govender commented, “In the artwork, they have included the ‘stronger one and all’ slogan to emphasise our strength and togetherness as a sisterhood. The names of the girls of our class of 2020 are displayed on the plaques next to this gift for them to come back years later to recall their wonderful memories at Girls’ Prep.”
