Echo Squad makes inroads in the fight against crime

HONEYDEW – The Honeydew Police’s Echo and robbery reaction units have been performing at a very high standard.

The Honeydew Police Station’s group of specialised officers, dubbed the Echo Squad, are making vigorous inroads in the fight against crime in the Honeydew policing area.

Spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said that the hard work and dedication of their officers has paid off, and their Echo and robbery reaction units have been performing at a very high standard. “Members of our Echo Squad followed up on information received to arrest numerous suspects. One of the biggest successes of this week’s efforts was the arrest of a suspect for possession of dangerous weapons and contravention of the Disaster Management Act,” said Muthan.

Muthan said that the officers have been hard at work planning the operations and bringing down the rate of trio crimes in the area. Trio crimes include house robbery, business robbery and vehicle hijacking.
“All arrested suspects will appear in court once investigation is complete as many are being linked to other crimes in other areas,” concluded Muthan.
