Children celebrate Africa Day

NORTH RIDING – Local schools encourage learners to write poems about being children of Africa.

Magic Beings and Cooper College celebrated Africa Day in style on 25 May.

The younger learners were amazed at the richness of the different cultures and traditions that make up the continent.

The intermediate and high school learners put their thoughts to paper and wrote beautiful poems to express their feelings about being children of Africa.

In the words of John Hemingway, ‘If I have ever seen magic, it has been in Africa.”

Cooper College’s executive head and spokesperson, Hesna Müller said that the learners of Magic Beings and Cooper College were eager to take part in the activities on the day.
