Cosmo City man left paralysed following armed robbery
COSMO CITY – To help Shadrack cover his ongoing medical costs and living expenses after this life-altering attack, non-profit organisation The Angel Network has launched a crowdfunding campaign on BackaBuddy to lend a helping hand.
A Cosmo City man’s life changed forever on September 1, in the early hours of the morning, when he was attacked and shot, while on his way to work.
Shadrack Kuchale is a 38-year-old husband, and father of two, who is now completely paralysed after being shot in the neck, and left for dead.

Kuchale survived the ordeal, during which he was robbed of his cellphone and R5 000, having been dragged by his attackers to a nearby ATM, but his life will never be the same again.
Having been assessed by a neurosurgeon, it became clear that the bullet from the attack had entered the upper-most part of Kuchale’s spine, shattering his spinal cord, before travelling to and puncturing his lung. As a result, he is now completely paralysed from the shoulders down and will remain a quadriplegic for the rest of his life, as no amount of physiotherapy can restore his spinal fluid or movement in his body.
To help Kuchale cover his ongoing medical costs and living expenses after this life-altering attack, non-profit organisation The Angel Network has launched a crowdfunding campaign on BackaBuddy to lend a helping hand.

“We need your help to give Shadrack and his family a chance to recover from this traumatic and life-altering attack. These criminals don’t even know or care what has happened to him, but we know our Angel Network community does and can make a difference to help them adjust to their new lives,” said Glynne Wolman of The Angel Network.
With generous support from the public, over R300 000 has been raised, with kind contributions flowing in from all around South Africa and countries around the world, too.
