DA calls win in Ward 134

The DA has also called a win in Ward 134, which includes parts of Randpark Ridge and surrounding areas.

This after the preliminary vote count for the ward was completed, and party agents said they found the majority win for the DA too great for a re-count to change the winner. Outgoing Ward 134 councillor Wendy Alexander (who is also a DA councillor and the party’s current chief whip for the DA in Joburg) will likely pass the baton on to Devon Steenkamp.

The IEC has not verified the results of this ward. Preliminary results are based on the work of party agents at the vote count, and their political parties in determining acceptable margins at which to call a win initially.
