Words of love and life

RANDPARK – Local poet aims to inspire people to express their thoughts and feelings in word.

Words can change the world, and so it goes for local poet, Fundile Gwala.

The Randpark resident has introduced #WordWednesdays on social media to inspire a love for poetry in her audience.

Every Wednesday without fail, the artist brings a delight of pleasant poetry – the kind dedicated to her past lovers and even poetry involving dealing with depression.

By profession, Gwala is a group sourcing specialist whose vision for a poetry career is to pour love into self and the universe, and hopefully bring a sense of belonging, to at least one soul that may be bleeding love somewhere.

“I hope that my works bring a sense of stability and sanity in the madness of accepting that emotions are overwhelming and wild and knowing that that’s okay,” she explained.

“I am grateful for the platforms that are growing and strengthening for up-and-coming artists such as myself. It’s extremely encouraging to know that there are people and space who want our works to come to life and to thrive. It’s a privilege to create and express oneself and have whole platforms allow art to come to life is so many different forms.”
