Netcare 911 responded to a collision on Hammer Avenue in Strydompark at about 10:09 on January 25.

Reports indicate that the driver of a heavy motor vehicle transporting a forklift lost control on a hill, resulting in the truck overturning, crashing through a boundary wall.

According to Netcare 911’s communication officer Shawn Herbst, medics assessed the scene and found that the driver, an adult male, had sustained fatal injuries. “Together with the City of Johannesburg EMS and Fire Operations, the body was cut free from the wreckage,” he said.

All relevant authorities were on scene.
