Flying Squad makes arrests in Triomf

TRIOMF – Gun thrown under a car spotted by the police.

Johannesburg Flying Squad have removed another suspected illegal firearm off the streets of the city.

On January at about 12:30pm they were patrolling around Triomf when they noticed a suspect removing a number plate of a white VW Golf at the Corner of Toby and Edward roads, according to communication officer, Senior Personnel Officer Raymond Sambo.

He said, “Members approached the vehicle and on seeing the police, a suspect threw a firearm underneath the white Golf. Three suspects were searched and placed under arrest for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and detained at Sophiatown Police Station.”
