The Grade 8s at Rand Park High School rang in the new year with a bell-ringing inauguration ceremony.
Principal Alan Wilke, deputy principal and Grade 8 dean Tracy Workman-Davies, the grade tutors and head leaders welcomed each learner as they crossed the school stage to mark the beginning of their high school journey.
The learners pledged their commitment to Rand Park High School and performed their Grade 8 song.
As each learner rang the school bell, they symbolically committed themselves to uphold the school’s values of integrity and commitment, participation, excellence, support and spirit.
Wilke encouraged the learners to make the most of all that the school has to offer and to contribute to making Rand Park a successful and happy school.
After a week of orientation, making new friends, getting to know their new teachers and the school’s leaders, the learners have settled in well and are ready to start their academic year.
