LINDEN – Police arrested 83 suspects in January for various offences.

Police arrested 83 suspects during the month of January.

Linden Police Station conducted patrols and special operations in the month. The station spokesperson Sergeant Takalani Sibiya said suspects were arrested for various offences.

The arrests include the use of a motor vehicle without a licence, possession of the stolen property, rape, shoplifting, possession of drugs, illegal dealing in liquor, drinking in public and trespassing. Other offences include assault with intent to do grievously bodily harm, dealing in second-hand goods, possession of a dangerous weapon, hit and run, malicious damage to property, armed robbery, common assault, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, possession of a stolen bike, theft and common robbery.
