“Hungry Lions FC understood the assignment”
COSMO CITY — Hungry Lions FC wins 3-2 against Chief Rollers FC.
Hungry Lions Football Club were kings in the Johannesburg Men’s Regional League after rolling over Chief Rollers Football Club on March 19.
Hungry Lions delivered a 3–2 win at the Multipurpose Sports Ground in Cosmo City, a victory towards cementing their status for the next season in the league.
Hungry Lions coach Ronnie Maphangule said. “Chief Rollers FC is one of the best soccer teams to play against… they gave us a tough game but we had very good communication within our team and our players strategised very well for the game hence we won against them.”
Lions’ Sifiso Taleni was thrilled to have scored his first goal for the team since joining them. “I am thrilled to say I am proud of myself as I am elevating in this team. It feels good now that I have scored my first goal ever since I have been here for about two years now. I am happy about my game today.
Lions captain Archie Sias said, “As the captain of the team, I am very proud as we came here prepared with clear minds to remain in the Johannesburg Men’s Regional League, and we hope to win in our next game to remain part of the league next season.”
