Burglary convicts sentenced to 7 and 6 years imprisonment, respectively

Randburg Police arrested three for business robbery and shoplifting.

Randburg police are celebrating the successful sentencing of two men for business burglary and a woman for shoplifting.

Moroesi Tsholo and Baatile Omphile were recently convicted in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court for burglary at a business.

The two were arrested after breaking into business premises and stealing wheel rims, police spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja said.

“They were spotted by police while on patrol and on their investigation they noticed that the two had gained entrance into the premises by breaking a sliding door. Omphile was sentenced to seven years imprisonment while his accomplice Tsholo was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for business breaking and then another three years.”

Meanwhile, Masego Sebata was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment suspended for five years for shoplifting.

Acting Station Commander Colonel Solomon Mudau applauded the members involved in the investigations and said the sentencings would serve as a deterrent to would-be criminals.
