3 years for business break-in

The 29-year-old man was found crawling near the fence of the premises. When police searched him they found stolen items.

A 29-year-old man was sentenced to three years direct imprisonment for breaking into a business.

Randburg police spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja said Ayanda Madolo was found guilty and sentenced in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court.

“It is alleged that in the early morning of April 1 2021, police officers received a complaint of a business break-in in Strijdom Park,” he explained.

“They responded quickly to the scene and when searching the area they noticed movement next to the fence of the scene. They stopped their vehicle to ascertain what was happening.”

They saw the suspect crawling next to the fence, and upon searching him they found stolen items from the property.

“The suspect was arrested and charged for business break-in whereby he gained access into the property by breaking… the window.”
