Swift action from members of the Linden police sector managers led to the arrest of three male suspects about to commit housebreaking.
According to the Linden Police Station communication officer Sergeant Takalani Sibiya, the members were out on patrol at around 14:30 in a marked SAPS vehicle in Fontainebleau on July 7, when they noticed a man standing outside the gate of a house.
Upon noticing the parked police vehicle, the man swiftly made his way to a white Honda that was also parked in the street.
Sibiya said, “The police approached the suspect to investigate his suspicious behaviour. The members questioned the suspects and asked permission to search the vehicle. They found two males hiding inside the Honda. The suspects tried to run away but were caught in the act.”
Upon further investigation, the police also discovered a set of number plates, a pick head and a ‘bobbejaan’ spanner.
The three suspects were arrested for possession of housebreaking implements. They were detained at the Linden Police Station and will soon appear in court.
