Funeral service for the late Tokollo ‘Magesh’ Tshabalala

TKZee star’s life was remembered by friends and family as they laid him to rest at Rhema Bible Church North.

Late Kwaito legend Tokollo ‘Magesh’ Tshabalala was admiringly remembered during a funeral service held in his honour at Rhema Bible Church North in Bromhof on August 19.

The death of the 45-year-old TKZee group member was confirmed by his family to have been by an epileptic seizure on the morning of August 15. The news of his passing had left a lot of his fans, friends, industry colleagues and family in total shock.

The Tshabalala family conveyed their heartfelt appreciation to the public for their support in a press statement on August 18.

The funeral service was held at Rhema Bible Church North.

“As a family, we would like to thank everyone for their immense outpouring of love, condolences and well-wishes. Tokollo was a son, a brother, a cousin, a mentor, a guardian, and a great artist that inspired many,” said the Tshabalala family.

Kabelo Mabalane who was a member of the well-known Kwaito group TKZee, emotionally shared that Magesh had taught him to believe in himself. “Magesh saw in me what I didn’t see in me for the longest time, he saw it from day one.” He also honoured the late star’s parents and thanked them for taking him in as their fifth child.

Zwai Bala who was also a member of TKZee gave his tribute through a short performance.

Kutloano Tshabalala, Magesh’s sister said you could not describe Tokollo, you just had to experience him. She shared that Tokollo took his job as a brother seriously as he loved everyone, he wanted everyone to feel loved.

Magesh was laid to rest in West Park Cemetry. The family shared that a memorial service would be held on August 24 at the St Stithians Chapel from 14:00 to 17:00.
