Blandford Road is still a mess in Northriding after years

Ward councillor laments perceived waste of funding by City when his roads have been in poor condition for at least a year.

Ward 101 councillor, Ralf Bittakau said he is aware of the community’s growing frustration with the deterioration of Blandford Road in Northriding.

Potholes and the seeming substandard repair of those potholes have frequented the busy road for years. Every time the rainy season comes; the situation is exacerbated. Bittkau has escalated the matter to the Johannesburg Roads Agency time and again.

“It was raised last year already, and nothing has been done, now we have craters big enough to lose a Leyland Mini in them,” he said.

JRA spokesperson, Kelebogile Mafa was contacted about this matter, and questions were sent to her about a more permanent solution to the problematic road.

Her comments will be published as soon as they are provided.
